For an explanation of the characteristics of green roof types and Sedum Mats, see our 'Green Roof Type' Page

Based on 14-5 mm recycled clean brick and 25-10 mm mature green compost. To ensure sustained optimal drainage properties, only dust-free brick is used. The medium provides a long-lasting reserve of major nutrients and trace elements with minimal water-soluble nitrogen to prevent soft growth.
This free-draining medium protects Sedum from invasion by aggressive weeds, heavy rainfall and severe cold.
Ideal for installation of Sedum as mat or plugs using a layer 75 mm deep.

Based on 5-2 mm recycled clean brick and <10 mm mature green compost. To ensure sustained optimal drainage properties, only dust-free brick is used.
This well-balanced medium provides protection from severe weather conditions including heavy rainfall and intense frost.
Ideal for establishment of a Meadow roof (using mat, transplants, or seed) using a layer at least 100 mm deep.

Like Meadow Roof Medium, Lawn Roof Medium is based on 5-2 mm recycled clean brick and <10 mm mature green compost but it also contains sterilised recovered topsoil to enhance establishment of the sward, whether based on cultivated or wild cultivars.
It is also suitable for grass/meadow flower mixtures.
Best used at 150 mm or more.

Specially developed to suit the latest techniques in Sedum Mat production, Sedum Seed Medium is based on 5-2 mm brick, 8 mm green compost, sterilised recovered topsoil and 8 mm composted conifer bark (FSC-sourced).
Usually applied as a 20 mm layer on a fabric base, it provides excellent germination and subsequent growth.
It can also be used to root Sedum cuttings broadcast over the surface.
