How to Use Vital Earth Bark Chips

Mulching

• Remove weeds
• Spread 2.5–5cm (1-2") around trees, shrubs, roses and hardy perennials
• For best results, replenish occasionally (1-3 years)
• For optimal weed suppression, lay ground cover fabric around plants before applying the Vital Earth Bark Chips

 

Other Uses

• Vital Earth Bark Chips make an attractive, clean finish for paths and standing/seating areas

Suggested Quantities for Vital Earth Bark Chips

2.5cm layer - 2.4m2 (eg 2m x 1.2m)

In planted containers, a light even application of Vital Earth Bark Chips shows off the plants to best effect, conserves moisture and discourages slugs/snails.

 

Gardening Advice

• Ideally, use within a year of purchase
  
• Suitable for all types of plants, including lime-hating subjects such as Azalea, Rhododendron and Pieris
• As with all gardening activities, please wash your hands after use and/or wear gloves
  
• Re-seal bag when not in use
  
• Store in a dry, frost free place, away from weed-killers and other chemicals
  
• To avoid danger of suffocation, please keep this bag away from babies and children
