Vital Earth Bulb Compost has been developed specially for growing bulbs in containers, including: crocus, narcissus, hyacinth, tulip and dwarf iris.

It is made from recycled materials, including composted garden waste and Vitalizer: an entirely natural, long-lasting growth booster, giving strong healthy plants and prolific blooms. Oyster shell and charcoal have been added to keep the compost sweet.

How to Use Vital Earth Bulb Organic Compost

Pots, bowls and troughs can all be used, drained or undrained.

 

Hyacinth

• Place bulbs on a layer of Bulb Compost in the container such that the top of the bulb shows just above the rim
• Top up with Vital Earth Bulb Compost, firming gently and leaving 1cm for watering (the top of each bulb should be clearly visible)

 

Other Bulbs

• Follow the procedure as for hyacinth but plant more deeply, so the bulbs are covered

 

General

• After planting water thoroughly but don't allow to become waterlogged
• Keep the planted container in a cool, dark place until 3-5cm shoots are seen. Then move the container into daylight.

Gardening Advice

• Ideally, use within a year of purchase
  
• As with all gardening activities, please wash your hands after use and/or wear gloves
  
• Re-seal bag when not in use
  
• Store in a dry, frost free place, away from weed-killers and other chemicals
  
• To avoid danger of suffocation, please keep this bag away from babies and children
