Vital Earth Farmyard Manure is a nutrient-rich soil conditioner –
based on composted horse manure – which puts body into
all soils and encourages healthy plant growth.

 

In light soils, it helps retain moisture and nutrients. It lightens heavy soils and enhances beneficial life in all soil types.

 

 

 

How to Use Vital Earth Farmyard Manure

Soil Conditioning

• Spread an even layer 5-10cm (2-4") deep on beds, borders, vegetable plots and areas being prepared for new lawn and fork in 15cm (6")
• A 5-10cm (2-4") layer on beds, borders and fruit gardens, feeds, retains moisture and protects roots from frost and helps suppress weeds

 

Planting Trees, Shrubs and Roses

• Dig a hole twice the diameter of the root-ball (at least 30cm/1' for a bare-root plant)
• Mix the excavated soil 2:1 with Vital Earth Farmyard Manure and use to backfill
• Firm in and water well
• During first season, water during droughts

 

Suggested Quantities for Vital Earth Farmyard Manure

5cm layer - 1m2 (1m x 1m)
10cm layer - 0.5m2 (1m x 0.5m)
15cm layer - 0.33m2 (1m x 0.33m)

 

Gardening Advice

• Ideally, use within a year of purchase
  
• As with all gardening activities, please wash your hands after use and/or wear gloves
  
• Re-seal bag when not in use
  
• Store in a dry, frost free place, away from weed-killers and other chemicals
  
• To avoid danger of suffocation, please keep this bag away from babies and children
