Vital Earth Rose, Tree and Shrub Organic Compost is formulated for planting container-grown or bare-rooted trees, shrubs, conifers and roses. It is rich in humus, major nutrients – nitrogen, phosphorus, potash and magnesium - plus trace elements such as iron, to keep the plant well-fed for its first year of growth - thus aiding establishment.

Based on specially composted garden waste, Vital Earth Rose, Tree and Shrub Organic Compost also contains Vitalizer: a long-lasting growth-booster which minimises the need for feeding.

The open-textured Organic compost allows air movement vital for the development of strong roots: ensuring sturdy plants, rich green foliage and strong flowering enhancing the garden for many years to come.

How to Use Vital Earth Rose, Tree and Shrub Organic Compost

Rose Trees and Shrubs

Ideally, plant shrubs, trees and roses in spring or autumn, although any time is possible if the plants have been container-grown and the soil is not too dry, not waterlogged and not frozen
Before planting, soak the root-ball in a bucket of water
Choose a position that allows your plant plenty of room to grow
Dig a hole twice as wide as the container, or root-ball, and about 8cms (3”) deeper
Cover the bottom of the hole with an 8cm (3”) layer of Vital Earth Rose, Tree and Shrub Organic Compost mixed 50:50 with soil
Place the plant centrally in the hole and refill with Vital Earth Rose, Tree and Shrub Organic Compost mixed 50:50with soil
Firm in well
Water thoroughly and water frequently during dryspells, until the plant is established

Small conifers	4/6 litres
Bare-rooted rose bushes	4/6 litres
Medium shrubs	8/10 litres
Standard trees	20/30 litres

Gardening Advice

• Ideally, use within a year of purchase
• As with all gardening activities, please wash your hands after use and/or wear gloves
• Re-seal bag when not in use
• Store in a dry, frost free place, away from weed-killers and other chemicals
• To avoid danger of suffocation, please keep this bag away from babies andchildren
